WHAT IS A PASS ?

All overseas nationals who wish to enter Malaysia must satisfy the Immigration Officer at the point of entry or arrival that they meet the requirements of the Immigration rules.

A pass is a document issued entitling the holder to enter and remain temporarily in a Malaysia.

The following are the classes of passes which may be issued :

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENT BETWEEN VISA AND PASS ?

A visa is an endorsement on your passport or travel document of a foreigner indicating that the holder has been granted permission to enter Malaysia.

A pass is for permission to stay temporarily in Malaysia for the period approved which is stamped on your passport at the entry point.

I AM A FOREIGNER IN SABAH. DO I NEED A PASS TO ENTER WEST MALAYSIA ?

No.

Every person entering West Malaysia including the Federal Territory of Labuan on a direct journey from any other place in Malaysia shall be exempted from the requirements of obtaining and producing before an immigration officer an internal travel document, passport or visa.
