WHAT IS A DEPENDANT'S PASS ?

A Dependant's Pass is a document issued to a foreigner being the wife or dependent child of the holder of a valid Employment Pass to enable such wife or child to accompany or join such holder and remain with him in Malaysia.

The Dependant's Pass shall authorize the holder to enter Malaysia on or before the date stated in the pass and to remain for such period as may be stated but not exceeding the period for which the Employment Pass has been issued to the husband or father of the holder of such Dependant's Pass.

IS THE HOLDER OF A DEPENDANT'S PASS PERMITTED TO ENGAGE IN EMPLOYMENT ?

No.

The wife or child in respect of whom the Dependant's Pass is issued is not permitted to engage in any form of paid employment in Malaysia without the consent in writing of the Immigration Department of Malaysia.

HOW DO I APPLY FOR A DEPENDANT'S PASS ?

Your application for Dependant's Pass can be submitted together with the application for the Employment Pass or after the Employment Pass is approved to the nearest Immigration Department of Malaysia.

The following documents must be submitted for application for Dependant's Pass :

  • Covering Letter
  • Form IMM. 10 (2 copies)
  • Form IMM. 39 (2 copies, if applicable)
  • 3 recent photographs measuring 3.5cm x 5.0cm
  • Proof of marriage
