HOW DO I APPLY FOR A STUDENT PASS ?

Every application for a Student's Pass shall be in Form IM. 14.

The Form IM. 14 has to be submitted in 2 copies together with the following supporting documents :

  • Letter of acceptance from the government or private educational institutions
  • 2 photocopies of passport or travel document
  • Passport size photographs of applicant
  • Student name list
  • Covering letter for application of Student's Pass from educational institutions
  • Personal Bond duty stamped

Students are not allowed to apply directly to the Immigration Department of Malaysia under this procedure.

The application for a Student's Pass must be submitted by the educational institutions to the Pass and Permit Division of Immigration Department of Malaysia.

A Student's Pass shall be issued in Form IM. 15 and shall permit the holder to enter West Malaysia, Sabah or Sarawak and remain there for a period subject to conditions as may be stated in the pass.

The immigration officer may make an appropriate endorsement on the passport or internal travel document held by the applicant and such endorsement shall be deemed to be a Student's Pass for studying in Malaysia.
