HOW DO I APPLY FOR THE DOCUMENT IN LIEU OF INTERNAL TRAVEL DOCUMENT ?

The Document In Lieu Of Internal Travel IMM. 114 can be obtained at all counters of the respective departure hall, at all International airport in West Malaysia.

This document is only valid for one journey and the holder is allowed to enter and remain in Sabah or Sarawak on a social or business visit not exceeding 3 months.

Prior to leaving West Malaysia, you must fill in the Document In Lieu Of Internal Travel in triplicate and produce to the immigration officer at the point of exist in West Malaysia the document.

You have to produce the document together with

  • identity card or
  • police or army identity card or
  • birth certificate or certificate of adoption if you are below 12 years

when entering and leaving West Malaysia, Sabah or Sarawak.

The document must be duly filled and be produced to an immigration officer at the point of entry into and exit from Sabah or Sarawak.

The first copy have to be produced to the immigration officer on arrival in Sabah or Sarawak.

The second copy have to be produced to the immigration officer on departure from Sabah or Sarawak.

Finally, you'll have to surrender to an immigration officer the third copy of the document on your re-entry to West Malaysia.

No payment or permission from parent or guardian is required.

DOES A CITIZEN OF MALAYSIA NEED A PASS OR TRAVEL DOCUMENT TO ENTER WEST MALAYSIA ?

No.

Every person entering West Malaysia including the Federal Territories of Labuan on direct journey from any other place in Malaysia shall be exempted from the requirements of obtaining and producing before an immigration officer an internal travel document, passport or visa.
