WHAT IS COLLECTIVE TRAVEL DOCUMENT IN LIEU OF PASSPORT AND HOW TO APPLY FOR IT ?

Collective Travel Document In Lieu Of Passport is a document issued to citizen of Malaysia for the purpose of traveling to foreign country in groups between 5 to 20 persons.

However, the travel is only restricted to ASEAN countries.

This document is valid for 9 months from the date of issue and valid only for a single journey.

Application can be made at the Immigration Department of Malaysia and all applicants must be present with the following documents :

  • Form H - IM. 101A
  • 2 photographs of applicant measuring 3.5cm x 5.0cm
  • Payment of RM$200.00 for a group

Each applicant must produce the following documents :

  • identity card or police identity card for applicant 18 years and above
  • identity card and marriage certificate for applicant below 18 years and married
  • identity card, if any, birth certificate and identity card of father for applicant below 18 years, where father is still alive
  • identity card, if any, birth certificate, death certificate of father and identity card of mother, where father deceased
  • identity card, if any, birth certificate, death certificate of parent and statutory declaration of guardianship, where parent deceased
  • identity card, if any, birth certificate, identity card of mother and court's order, where parents separated and father cannot be contacted
  • identity card, if any, identity card of legal guardian and certificate of adoption certifying child's citizenship status.
WHAT IS AN INTERNAL TRAVEL DOCUMENT ?

There is a restriction on West Malaysian citizen's right of entry into East Malaysian State.

West Malaysian citizen shall not be entitled to enter an East Malaysian State without having obtained a pass.

An internal travel document or restricted travel document is a document issue to citizens of West Malaysia for the purpose of traveling between Sabah or Sarawak or any other part of Malaysia.

This document shall not be deemed to be a passport.
