Main Category Related Topics WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I WISH TO RENOUNCE MY MALAYSIAN CITIZENSHIP ?If you are over the age of 21 years and of sound mind who is also or is about to become a citizen of another country, you may renounce your citizenship of Malaysia by declaration registered by the Federal Government. Thereupon, you shall cease to be a citizen of Malaysia. A declaration of renunciation of citizenship shall be in Form K and be made before a Magistrate, Justice of the Peace, Advocate and Solicitor, Notary Public or Commissioner for Oaths. Form K can be obtained and submitted to the counter of Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara or Registration Department of Malaysia or if you are in a foreign country, the consulate of Malaysia or Malaysian Embassies in that country. Where the declaration of renunciation of citizenship subscribed before a Magistrate, Justice of the Peace, Advocate and Solicitor, Notary Public or Commissioner for Oaths at a place outside Malaysia, it shall not be subject to the Federation stamp duty. Form K must be accompanied by the following documents :
