shall be guilty of an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding RM$10,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 5 years or to both. Any person contravening any of the provisions of the Passports Act 1966 shall be guilty of an offence and shall, where no other penalty is provided by the Act, be liable, on conviction, to a fine not exceeding RM$10,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 5 years or to both. The Act also provides that any person who
shall be guilty of an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine of not less than RM$10,000 but not more than RM$50,000 and imprisonment for a term of not less than 1 year but not more than 5 years. The Act further provides that any person who makes any false document
as a passport for the purposes of entering or leaving Malaysia, shall be guilty of an offence and shall on conviction, be liable to a fine of not less than RM$15,000 but not more than RM$100,000 and imprisonment for a term of not less than 2 years but not more than 10 years and with whipping or not more than 6 strokes of the rotan.
