WHAT IS MALAYSIA-INDONESIA BORDER CROSSING PASS AND HOW DO I APPLY FOR ONE ?

The Malaysia-Indonesia border crossing pass is a document issued to citizen of Malaysia residing in the administrative district of Pensiangan, Tenom, Sipitang and Tawau in the State of Sabah and Lundu, Bau, Kuching, Serian, Simanggang and Lubok Antu in the state of Sarawak.

This document is valid for 1 year from the date of issue and can be used for multiple journey.

You will be granted permission to stay in Indonesia for 30 days for each entry.

Application for the Malaysia-Indonesia border crossing pass can be made at the Immigration Department of Malaysia.

Your application must be submitted together with the following documents :

  • Form - IM. 98
  • 2 photographs of applicant measuring 3.5cm x 5.0cm
  • Children below 12 years of age cannot be issued with a separate document
  • Identity card for applicant 15 years and above
  • Birth certificate for applicant below 15 years
  • Payment of RM$20.00
WHAT IS PEKAN PADANG BESAR VISIT CARD AND HOW DO I APPLY FOR ONE ?

The Pekan Padang Besar visit card is a card issued only to Thai nationals residing at the border of Southern Thailand for the purpose of visiting the town of Padang Besar, Perlis between 6:00 am until 10:00 pm.

There are 2 types of Pekan Padang Besar visit card :

  • IM. 117A visit card which is valid for 3 months from the date of issue and
  • IM. 117 visit card which is valid for 1 day.

No payment is required for application.

Application for IM. 117 visit card has to be submitted at the Immigration Department of Malaysia together with the following supporting documents :

  • Thailand identity card

Application for IM. 117A visit card has to be submitted at the Immigration Department of Malaysia together with the following supporting documents :

  • Thailand identity card and
  • 2 photographs of applicant measuring 3.5cm x 5.0cm
