No.

A person born on board of a registered ship or aircraft shall deemed to have been born in the place in which the ship or aircraft was registered.

A person born on board an unregistered ship or aircraft of the Government of any country shall be deemed to have been born in that country.

IF A NEW BORN BABY IS BEING ABANDONED, WHAT WILL BE THE STATUS OF THE BABY ?

Any new born child found exposed in any place shall be presumed to have been born there of a mother permanently resident there until the contrary is shown.

The date of the finding shall be taken to be date of the birth.

WHAT ARE THE OFFENSES FOR MAKING FALSE STATEMENT IN AN APPLICATION FOR A CITIZENSHIP OR FORGING A CERTIFICATE OF CITIZENSHIP ?

Under Article 31, Part II, Second Schedule to the Constitution, it shall be an offence punishable with imprisonment for 2 years or a fine of RM$1,000.00 or both for any person

  • knowing to make any false statement with a view to inducing the Minister to grant or refuse any application relating to citizenship, including any application to determine whether the applicant is a citizen by operation of law or
  • to forge or without lawful authority alter any certificate, whether issued or granted in the Malaysia or elsewhere, or without lawful authority use or have in his possession any certificate of registration or naturalization as a citizen which has been so forged or altered or
  • to fail to comply with any requirement imposed upon him by any rules made with respect to the delivering up of certificates of registration or naturalization as a citizen or
  • to personate or falsely represent himself to be or not to be a person to whom a certificate of registration or naturalization as a citizen, whether issued in Malaysia or elsewhere, has been duly issued or granted.
