WHEN IS MY COMPANY READY TO FRANCHISE ?

There are several important issues that you should consider before implementing a franchise program.

You must evaluate your company on several criteria. Your company must have products or services that are well accepted by the public and should be readily adapted to other areas of the country. There should be a protected trademark as a valid trademark licensing means the licensor's obligation to control the quality of its licensee's product or services.

Before franchising, your company should have successful and profitable outlets preferably in several locations. This can also determine whether your outlets operation is ideal.

A good operating, marketing and delivery system should have been implemented. Once you expand your business by franchising, your elements of the success of the business must be teachable to your prospective franchisee.

Your company must have a complete and comprehensive operation and training manual and business brochure. Your accounting system have to be standardized and there should be a manual for that purposes. Thus, your company must have a clear understanding of how it will train, recruit, support and communicate with franchisees. An organized quality system control is also needed.

As a franchising company will be guiding and assisting a franchisee rather than managing the day to day operations of the businesses, research and development of the products or services and complete training program must be on-going. Periodical promotional program of the products or services must also be carried out.

A franchising company will also be providing technical advisory services on equipment and outlet location identification. Inspectorate services in producing quality and standardized product or service must be implemented.

On the whole, your company must also have a good business and marketing plan and sufficient capital to develop and implement the franchising program.

WHO SHOULD I CONTACT FOR FURTHER INFORMATION ?

All applications or inquiries regarding the registration of franchise must be made by way of letter or by coming personally to the Registrar of Franchise.
